Obituary: Hendricks, Joyce Marguerite

HENDRICKS, Joyce Marguerite Joyce Hendricks, age 79, of Battlefield, MO, passed away at 5:32 a.m. on Wednesday, April 16, 2014, at Cox South Hospital in Springfield, MO.

She was born July 26, 1934, in Spokane, WA the daughter of the late Joseph Theodore and Norma Blanche (Reese) Prickett.

Joyce was a 1952 graduate of West Valley High School in Spokane.

She worked as a telephone operator for Southwestern Bell and AT&T.

Joyce was a member of the South Haven Baptist Church in Springfield.

On March 8, 1958, she married H. Dean Hendricks in Spokane, and he preceded her in death May 23, 1999.

Her daughter Laurie Hendricks also preceded her in death September 1971 as well as two brothers, Lincoln W. Prickett and Norman A. Prickett.

She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her son Reese Hendricks and his wife, Lisa, of Springfield; one daughter, Holly K. Dugan, of Battlefield; five grandchildren, Ryan and Laurie Dugan, Katie Dugan- Butler and her husband, Chris, and Connor and Jacob Hendricks; and two brothers, Donald Prickett and twin brother, Joel Prickett of Spokane, WA.

A graveside service, under the direction of the Fossett-Mosher Funeral Home in Mt.

Vernon, MO was held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 19, 2014, at Kerr Cemetery, east of Mt.

Vernon.

Memorial donations may be made to the Missouri Baptist Children’s Home in care of the funeral home.
