Obituary: Miller, Earle L. “Bud”
Age 79
He was born on March 18, 1935 in Eugene, Oregon to Earle and Marie Miller.
His father was a minister and evangelist and many of those early years the family moved from town to town as his father preached the Gospel.
Bud eventually ended up In Clarkston, Washington where he met his future wife Glenda Wilkins.
He graduated from Clarkston High School in 1953.
Bud and Glenda were married in 1955 by his father.
They then moved to Spokane where he worked for Pacific Northwest Alloys as a laborer.
He later graduated from the Columbia School of Broadcasting, and worked as a disc jockey, at KSPO, a country western radio station.
He worked on the all night request show for several years.
He bought the bus bench business, Spokane Outdoor Advertising, in 1984 and was a one man operation until he sold the business and retired in 1997.
Bud had been diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 1995 and by 1997 it had restricted his ability to lift heavy equipment, which was a necessary part of his job.
He then drove courtesy shuttle for Empire Ford for the next five years.
Bud is survived by his wife of 58 years, Glenda, sons Michael (Jill) Jasonville, Florida, Richard (Juleann) Davenport, Iowa and daughter Renee’ LaVoie (Scot) of Spokane.
Seven grandchildren Eric, Joe and Katie Miller of Spokane, Jordan and Carly Miller of Davenport, Iowa and Kramer and Tyler LaVoie of Spokane.
Bud was a member of the Spokane Valley Baptist Church, 12222 S. McDonald Rd, Spokane, WA 99216 where a memorial service honoring his life will be held Thursday, May 15, 2014 at 1:00p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be given to the Church or the Parkinson’s Foundation.
