Body of man recovered from river north of Spokane

Spokane County sheriff’s deputies recovered the body of a man from the Spokane River near the Seven Mile area on Monday afternoon. Deputies received a call about the body a little before 5 p.m. It appears the body was in the water for an extended period of time, the Sheriff’s Office said in a news release. The Spokane County medical examiner will perform an autopsy to determine the cause of death and identity of the man, according to the news release. Major crimes detectives have been assigned to the case.
