Obituary: Summers, Edward Raymond
Age 61
He was born April 21, 1953 in Spokane, WA to Delbert and Marcella Summers.
He graduated from North Central High in Spokane, WA.
He entered the United States Air Force in 1971.
He married the love of his life Staceia (Moon) Summers on August 2, 1975.
Both active in the service, the couple lived at Bergstrom Air Force Base in Austin, TX.
Ed and Stace were very active in square dancing before he retired from the service in 1979.
Once Ed retired, they moved to Mt.
Home AFB where Stace continued her military career and Ed went on to study at BSU where he earned his BA in Business.
They were blessed with their son David in 1984.
After Ed graduated from college he went on to have a long career in procurement at HP and Jabil corporations.
Ed was active in the Hot Rod community and was presented the Master Builder Award in 2000 at the Boise Roadster Show.
In 2004, Ed discovered his true passion of becoming an equipment manager for several professional hockey teams.
The many friends he met were never forgotten and during his life long struggle with cancer and the toll it took on his body, he still found time to help many through their struggles as well.
He is preceeded in death by his twin sister, Evelyn “Pink” Summers and his parents.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 33 years, Stace; son David (Stephanie) Summers; siblings, Del (Pam), Joe (Cheryl), Jim (Debbie), Angie (Greg) and Bev (Rachel); grandchildren, Damian and Kinsley Summers; and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews and cousins.
He will truly be missed by all who knew him.
A viewing will be held Tuesday, May 27, 2014 from 6:00-8:00 pm at Summers Funeral Homes, 3629 E. Ustick Road, Meridian, Idaho.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at 11:00 am at Summers Funeral Homes in Meridian.
A graveside service will follow at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery.
