Obituary: Branting, Larry R.

Age 60

BRANTING, Larry R. (Age 60) Larry Ryan Branting was born on April 30, 1954 in Lewiston, Idaho to Raymond and Mary Branting.

Upon moving to Spokane, he attended Grant Elementary School and Lewis and Clark High School where he played basketball.

Larry married Coby L. Miller on September 12th, 1980 and had three children.

Larry was well-read in many areas and was called “The Brain” by his friends, as he was the “go-to” guy that they would turn to for guidance.

Little did he know, the guidance would carry on throughout his life, as he had a knowledge and presence about him that people who knew him, trusted.

Larry always believed in GOD and wore a cross necklace, that he always kept close to his heart.

He was an honorable and passionate man.

Sometimes, his passion could be misinterpreted by the people that really didn’t know or understand his heart.

Like most of us, there were times that Larry faced trials, tribulations and challenges in his life but it was all part of his journey.

All in all, he was a good man, husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, friend and mentor.

There were quite a number of times that he would be out helping someone to fix things or to give someone something he thought that person needed.

He has passed that quality on to his children.

Larry is preceded in death by his father, Raymond Branting.

He is survived by his wife Coby; daughter Shana, her husband Mark Gaunt; Son’s, Ryan and Clint; mother, Mary Branting; sister Paula, her husband Doug Barr; brother, Jason Branting and his wife, Holly; step-mother, Jan Branting and two step brother’s, Steve and Darin and his family.

He also is leaving grandchildren, Maizy, Grace, Benjamin, Peyton and Taylor; nieces, nephews, a great-nephew; and a host of friends not to ever be forgotten.

Although Larry has finally found peace and a place without pain after two and a half long years of courageously battling cancer, he will be dearly missed as he goes to be with the Lord.

A memorial service will be held to honor and celebrate Larry’s life on Saturday May 31st at 1:30 pm at the Intersection/Open Bible Church at 905 N. McDonald Spokane Valley, WA 99216.
