Owners sell CdA’s The Cellar

Patricia and Tom Power, owners of The Cellar in Coeur d’Alene, have sold their longtime North Idaho business to area chef Adam Hegstad. The popular restaurant and wine bar has been in business in downtown Coeur d’Alene for more than 20 years, at 317 Sherman Ave. The couple announced they wished to retire from the restaurant business.

Terms of the sale were not disclosed.

Hegstad has had extensive experience opening and running successful restaurants. Those include Brix Restaurant in Coeur d’Alene, and currently The Wandering Table, in Kendall Yards. He was also executive chef at the Coeur d’Alene Casino in Worley.

The Cellar’s wine manager will be Naomi Boutz, a news release said.

CHAS buys building for clinic

Nonprofit Community Health Association of Spokane (CHAS) has purchased 24,400 square feet of office space at 15812 E. Indiana Ave. in Spokane Valley and plans to use about 6,000 square feet for a new clinic.

The clinic’s future space has been vacant for some time, said Matthew Byrd, of Cornerstone Property Advisors, who helped arrange the sale. The rest of the commercial building space will continue being leased to tenants, Byrd said.

CHAS paid $4.25 million to previous owner, Premier Investors Group Inc.

This will be the community health agency’s 11th local clinic.
