Obituary: Matteson, Dorothy

MATTESON, Dorothy (Age 88) It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our dear, sweet Mother, Dorothy; born on February 24, 1926, in Bend, Oregon, she passed away on November 14, 2014, in Spokane, WA.

Dorothy was preceded by her loving husband Ron, of 60 years, who passed away in December 2000.

In 1966, Dorothy and Ron purchased Weilers Flowers, in the Millwood area, later changing the name to Riverpark Flowers.

They had a 30 year career in the floral industry and became very active within numerous conventions and other functions.

They gained many lasting friendships during those years, being well respected with their contributions.

They were also avid Spokane Chiefs Hockey fans, having season tickets for over 20 years.

Dorothy is survived by her four children, Ray (Susie) Matteson, Patti (Wallie) Libby, Peggy (Bill) Lanter, Graig (Gail) Matteson; 20 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren and two on the way.

Our sincere thanks to all the Angels at Colonial Court, for the loving care they gave Dorothy this last year; also to Broadway Court and Gentiva Hospice.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Heritage Funeral Home, 508 N. Government Way, Spokane, WA 99224, on Saturday November 22, 2014, at 2:30 PM.
