Thelma graduated from North Central High School in 1942.
She graduated from Kinman Business College.
After raising a family she re-entered the workforce in 1961 and worked as an accountant and business manager for a Spokane corporation.
Mom loved the outdoors and enjoyed hiking, huckleberry picking, playing cards, reading, knitting and crocheting.
Thelma is survived by her husband Ron, and daughters, Linda (Robert) Carr of Cheney, Marilee (John) Brugger of Chewelah and son, Neil (Young Sue) Roper of Spokane, and brother Michael Howell of Concrete, WA.
She is also survived by five grandchildren; Julie (Wes) Spears of Cheney, David (Kelly) Carr of Spokane, Jason (Kathy) Brugger of Spokane, Andrea Brugger of Chewelah and Aaron (Heather) Roper of Spokane; and eight great-great-grandchildren.
Thelma was preceded in death by a daughter, Deedre Elyn, and brothers Lawrence and Bud Howell.
A Rosary will be held on Tuesday, December 2nd at 7:00 pm at the funeral home.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, December 3rd at 11:00 am at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, at Cedar and Montgomery in Spokane, followed by interment at Holy Cross Cemetery.
