Halvorson found guilty of rape, assault

A story that ran on page B3 of the Aug. 30 newspaper incorrectly stated the resolution of a rape and assault case against Scott R. Halvorson due to a reporter’s error. Halvorson was found guilty of third-degree rape and second-degree assault with sexual motivation in a 2008 trial, but maintains his innocence and is appealing the sentence.
