Obituary: Phillips, Hilda Anna
Hilda is the dear mother and mother-in-law of John F. and Cindy Phillips, of Deer Park, and Gloria and Lynn Runnion, of Walla Walla, Washington, passed away on Wednesday, August 27, 2014, at College Place, Walla Walla, Washington.
Mrs Phillips enjoyed five grandchildren: Matthew, Ashlynn, Kory, Anna Marie, and Emily; and seven great-grandchildren: Jonathon, Hailey, Paris, Madeline Rose, Jordan, Zachary and Alexa.
Born in 1920 in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, she and her husband, John Orvale Phillips, were married in 1941, just prior to his serving with the United States Marine Corp in World War II.
After the war, they established their residence in the Gardenspot area, north of Deer Park.
Hilda was very active in and was a lifetime member of the Gardenspot Grange, and she participated in various ladies groups in the area.
Mr Phillips passed away in 2012, after which she resided in the Walla Walla area to be near to her daughter, Gloria.
Graveside services followed, with interment honoring Mrs. Phillips will be in Deer Park at the Woodland Cemetery on Saturday, September 6, 2014, at 1:00 P.M. with Rev.
Dr. Daniel N. Berg Officiating.
