Obituary: Mcgregor, June Margaret
Age 88
The daughter of William Graham and Elizabeth Rae, she grew up with her brother, Ted, and sister, Enid, in the beautiful Slocan, British Columbia, where today the local elementary school proudly bears the name of their father.
June married Edward Wallace McGregor on September 14, 1946, in Nelson, British Columbia, and later moved to Spokane where they raised two children, Debra Rae McGregor and Edward Stewart McGregor.
June spent most of her adult life in Spokane as a dedicated and loving wife and mother focused on family.
She also worked as an Executive Assistant for the Old Nation Bank for many years, retiring in June of 1991.
She spent a number of her retirement years in Spokane, and then moved to Sumner, Washington with her husband Ed, who passed in 2004.
The family was blessed to have had June (Nana) back in Spokane for her last few months, we will all fondly remember her as one of the sweetest, kindest, and most beautiful people they’ve ever had the pleasure to know - Nana will be truly missed.
June is survived by her children, Debra “Ba” (Ward) McGregor-Gentry and son, Ed “Eddie” (Judy) McGregor; grandchildren, Michael McGregor, Rachel Gentry, Katie McGregor, and Crishelle Gentry-Costello, and other dear family members.
A memorial will be held Sunday September 14, 2014, from 3:00 to 5:00 PM at the home of her son, Ed McGregor.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, a donation be made on June’s behalf to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America, to aid in Dementia research.
