Obituary: Bosse, Lorraine A.
Age 89
(Age 89) Lorraine was born on February 10, 1925 in Moxee, WA.
Her father passed away when she was a young child, so her mother raised her four children: Vincent, Jeanette, Margaret and Lorraine alone.
After her siblings were grown and started their own families, Lorraine moved to Spokane at age 16 with her mother.
She married Frank Brophy and had three children.
After Frank’s death she married Leonard Bosse, who has also passed.
Lorraine was a simple person who liked lightening, sunsets, butterflies and pansies.
She lived comfortably on a meager income, having few personal possessions but wanting for nothing.
She didn’t require new or fancy things for herself.
Despite her small income, she always managed to put a good meal on the table and provide Catholic school education for her children.
Holidays were special.
Even when there wasn’t much money, she found a way to provide abundant gifts and meals, including spoiling her grandchildren with beautiful hand-made pajamas, dolls and quilts.
In order to provide these things she worked very hard all her life and never complained.
Even after her retirement, Lorraine continued to work as a gift wrapper at local department stores.
She was a member of St. Aloysius Parish and involved in the Women’s Guild and Alter Society.
On September 13, 2014, Lorraine passed away in Spokane, WA.
Lorraine is survived by her two daughters, Patricia (John) and Janice; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews whom she cherished.
She is preceded in death by her husbands, Frank Brophy and Leonard Bosse; son, Daniel; grandson, Ronald Miller and siblings: Vincent, Jeanette, Margaret and Paul (passed away at age 3).
A Visitation will take place on Friday, September 26th from 12 - 5 pm with a Rosary following at 5 pm both at Hennessey Funeral Home, 2203 N. Division.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, September 27th at 12 noon at St. Aloysius Parish, 330 E. Boone.
Interment will be also on Saturday, September 27th at 3 pm at Holy Cross Cemetery.
The family would like to offer a special thanks to Pat, John and Tamela for taking such wonderful care of Lorraine over the past several years.
You were her angels when she needed you the most.
