Obituary: Hudson, John Richard

Age 73

HUDSON, John Richard Known in the Spokane area as “Red”, departed this world on Tuesday, September 16, 2014.

Red was born June 2, 1941 at McMullen, Missouri, the son of a share-cropper and farm laborer, John Burton and Thelma Christine (Hart) Hudson.

He is survived by his wife Daryl F. Hudson; and older brother Austin Ray Hudson living in Spokane.

John began his first years of schooling in a one-room country school for grades one through six, then graduated in 1959 from Kelly High School, Diehlstadt, Missouri.

He had a son and daughter in previous marriages, of which his daughter Mychelle, of Phoenix, Arizona, made him very proud of two beautiful granddaughters, Kaci and Kodi.

He retired from the United States Air Force as a Technical Sergeant after having served at Fairchild AFB, and Montana; two years in the Navy on the USS Forrestal, Germany, North Carolina, North Dakota; and two tours of duty in Guam.

His duties in the Air Force were primarily working on aircraft and related fields.

Red enjoyed Spokane and the Northwest.

He and Daryl lived in Airway Heights for almost twenty years.
