Eastern equals record in win

The Eastern Washington women’s soccer team tied the program record for goals in a match in a 5-1 win over Weber State in Cheney on Sunday.

Cassie Black scored twice and Chloe Williams, Kiana Hafferty and Savannah Hoekstra also had goals as the Eagles (4-4-0, 1-1-0 Big Sky) swamped the Wildcats (3-8-0, 0-2-0). EWU goaltender Nathalie Schwery made 10 saves.

• Idaho (2-9-0, 2-0-0) won its second straight Big Sky match with a 1-0 win over North Dakota (1-6-1, 0-1-0) in Moscow, Idaho. Kavita Battan had the only goal, which came in the 21st minute.

• Whitworth (2-6-1, 1-4-0) picked up its first Northwest Conference win, 1-0 over host Pacific (4-4-1, 1-3-1) in Forest Grove, Oregon. Tiara Pajimola scored her third goal of the season in the 72nd minute.

Men’s soccer

Karl Muelheims scored twice and Whitworth (8-0-1, 3-0-1 NWC) remained undefeated with a 4-1 victory over host Pacific in Forest Grove, Oregon. Samual Jarrett and Micheal Ramos also scored for Whitworth.

• Gonzaga (1-7-0) fell 1-0 in a nonconference match against host Seattle (5-3-0).

Junior hockey

Emilio Trujillo had two goals and two assists and Dillon Bogart added two goals and an assist as the Spokane Braves scored an 8-0 KIJHL victory over the Grand Forks Border Bruins (3-6-0-0, 6 points) at Eagles Ice-A-Rena.

Trevor Dilauro made 24 saves in goal for Spokane (4-3-0-1, 9).
