EVANS, Cynthia Lea “Cindy” Cynthia Lea Evans, 55, of Nine Mile Falls, WA, passed away on Friday, March 27, 2015.

Cindy was born in Port Townsend, WA, on November 20, 1959 to Melvin and Marguerite Blair.

When she was a young child the family moved to California, and later to Virginia and Missouri.

Cindy returned to Port Townsend as a single mother with her two children, Samantha and Joseph, where she met, and married Tom Gowdy, her late husband and adopted father of Samantha and Joseph.

She and Tom enjoyed the many wonderful features of Port Townsend including its beaches, festivals and especially their favorite park, Chetzemoka, where they were married.

Cindy and Tom had a son, Derek, and later moved to Spokane where Tom passed away in 1999.

Cindy remained a cherished member of the Gowdy family until her passing, appreciating their love and support.

In Spokane, Cindy met her husband Rick Evans.

They eventually made their home in Nine Mile Falls, WA.

Rick was a devoted husband and their 14 years together were distinguished by a deep commitment to family.

In addition to her three magnificent children, Cindy cherished her five grandchildren, and provided loving guardianship of her niece and nephew, Kaitlynn and Nicholas Blair.

Cindy was a vibrant and generous woman with a passion for reading, gardening, cooking, politics and conversation.

Cindy took much joy in gathering her family for meals and holidays.

She and Rick enjoyed boating on Long Lake and kayaking on the Little Spokane River.

Their obvious love for each other was an abundant source of support during her long illness.

Our family will be forever grateful to Rick for his constant and tender care of our beloved Cindy.
