Man arrested after attempted abduction

Spokane Police arrested a 51-year-old man around 2 p.m. this afternoon after he reportedly tried to abduct a 13-year-old girl in the Wal-Mart parking lot on Wellesley Avenue. The girl told police that the man grabbed her arm and wanted to take her to his house and have sex with her, according to a police press release. She called 911 and gave police an “excellent” description of the man. Police were on scene within four minutes and arrested Keith D. Hooks based on the girl’s description, the press release said. Hooks has been booked into the Spokane County Jail on charges of unlawful imprisonment and indecent liberties.
