Obituary: Sitton, Janet Erna
Age 86
She was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Howard and Erna (Krueger) Williams on August 6, 1928, the second of their four daughters.
She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in three years and accepted her first teaching job in Washtucna, Washington.
Janet headed out west all by herself by train to start her job.
She met Herbert Sitton at the reception held for her as the new school teacher.
Herbert went through the reception line twice, he was already smitten with Janet.
Janet was preceded in death by her daughter, Lynn Sitton in 2007, and her husband, Herbert R. Sitton in 2008.
She is survived by her son Randy (Diane Grecco) Sitton; her daughter Lori (Mark) Kunkler; grandchildren Ciera, Savana, Aaron, and Adriel; and her three sisters, Joyce Sweeney, Joanne Carstens and Jane Walker.
Upon the request of Janet, there will not be any services.
She will be inurned at Spokane Memorial Gardens at a later date.
Donations in memory of Janet Sitton may be made to any organization working for a cure for cancer, the cause of her daughter’s death.
