Obituary: Waltz, John Benson

Age 78

WALTZ, John Benson (Age 78) John went to be with his Lord and Savior on March 11, 2015.

He was born on August 2, 1936 to Loyd and Mary Waltz in Monroe, WA.

He worked as a heavy machine operator for Spokane County, retiring in 1999.

He had an “on again, off again” relationship with the love of his life, Grace, finally marrying in 2001.

He is survived by his daughter Tammy Lassey (Jeff), stepchildren Theresa Ormiston (Greg), Robert Raber (Leah), Charles Petty (Dawn), Randy Hendley, Bryon Langworthy (Cindy); grandchildren Rebecca and Anthony Barks; dear friends Mischael Paris, Sharon Workman, Carey and Trisha Hughes; niece Yvonne Stading (Lloyd) and several stepgrandchildren.

He was preceded in death by wives Anne and Grace.

John was an artist, carpenter, and volunteer maintenance man at Christ the Redeemer Church where he was a longtime member.

He enjoyed adventures with his granddaughter Rebecca, and food of any kind.

A special thank you to members of ALLSO for their support as he battled ALS, and to grandson Anthony for his care and assistance helping to keep grandpa at home during his final days.

A Memorial Service will be held at Christ the Redeemer Church at 1523 W. Mallon, Spokane, WA at 1P.M.

on Thursday, April 9th, 2015.
