Obituary: Watson, Bill L.

WATSON, Bill L. Bill L. Watson, 58, lifetime resident of Spokane, passed peacefully in his sleep on March 26th.

In 1973, at the age of 17, Bill was severely injured in an automobile accident.

This left him a quadriplegic the remainder of his life.

Bill lived the past 41 years at home surrounded by love and those that cared for him.

The family would like to give special appreciation to the hundreds of volunteers who helped Bill daily for years in the patterning process.

Twice daily, they would come to our home and help in a program developed by Dr. Glenn Doman and The Institutes for the Achievement of Human Potential in Philadelphia.

Bill will be remembered for his famous, “How’s it hanging?”

greeting, which was always accompanied with a huge grin and laugh.

Another special thanks goes to our “Uncle” Bruce Arnold for providing Bill the best care possible over the last 15 years.

Bill is survived by his parents Harry and Jodine Watson; sister, Julie Coniconde; brother, Wally Watson (wife Lynette); and aunt, Heidi Leeney.

Bill also leaves his nieces and nephews; David and Michael Coniconde; and Toshick, Chandler, and Hunter Watson.

Bill now has the legs he wasn’t destined for in this life.

A celebration of Bill’s life will be held on August 2nd at 1PM at the Watson’s cabin on Hauser Lake.
