Holy Thursday - 9:30 a.m.: The service includes readings from the Gospels which describe Jesus’ last words to his disciples, his betrayal, arrest, trial and crucifixion. 7 p.m.: The Vesperal Divine Liturgy commemorates Christ’s last meal with his disciples and his establishing of the Eucharist as our central act of communion with him. Holy Friday - 9:30 a.m.: The Royal Hours let us keep vigil at the cross, recounting the story of the crucifixion together with Old Testament prophecies, psalms and hymns. After, we prepare the representation of Christ’s tomb, which will hold the Epitaphios, the icon of Christ laid in the tomb. 3:30 p.m.: The Vespers of the Unnailing re-enacts the taking down of Christ’s body from the cross. 7:00 p.m.: The Lamentations express our grief at Christ’s death and our hope in his resurrection. Life’s Journey Program - A free series of five classes exploring issues related to aging, focusing on care-giving to relatives, self or loved ones – before, during and after life’s journey.
