Obituary: Sheeks, Russell K.

SHEEKS, Russell K. Entered into rest peacefully after a long battle with cancer at his home surrounded by his family on April 6, 2015.

Russ was born on November 21, 1941.

He graduated from Shadle Park High School, the first graduating class in 1960.

Russ served in the Navy then returned to Spokane, where he met Sandee Edwards, the love of his life and they were married.

He then attended Eastern Washington University and graduated with a degree in Political Science and began a life time career as stock broker.

Russ is survived by his wife Sandee, children Sean and Shannon; son-in-law Mark Blewett and three grandsons, Jayden, Kyan and Declan.

Russ leaves us with a legacy of stoicism in the face of adversity, and a gentle, kind and gracious spirit.

He was a great husband, father and “Papa” and good guy to know.

As a past Commodore of the Spokane Yacht Club he enjoyed cruises on the lake, classic cars, camping in the motor home, a good debate and a party with his friends and family.

At Russ’s request he was cremated and a private family service will be held at a later date.

A Celebration of Life, will be held Sunday, April 19, 2015 at Eagles from 2:00 - 4:00 (6410 N. Lidgerwood, Spokane.

WA).
