Obituary: Taylor, Floyd Bryce
Age 93
Floyd was born in Spokane, Washington on November 12, 1921 and graduated from high school in Metaline Falls, WA.
He served in WWII as an aircraft instrument specialist in the 441st Bomber Squadron and upon returning home was married to the love of his life, Alice Mae Scott MacLean, on July 4, 1946 in Spokane.
Alice and Floyd had six children and celebrated 56 years of marriage together until her death in 2002.
Over the years, they lived at Sullivan Lake, WA, Grayland, WA and finally settled on acreage north of Hayden, ID where they spent the last 45 years.
Floyd was a jack-of-all-trades with careers in the logging and mining industries and eventually settled into a business partnership with his son, Roy, as a mechanic.
He was an avid outdoorsman and loved hunting and fishing and shared these passions with his sons.
Floyd was very musical and could be found playing the organ, piano or accordion almost every day.
He also loved to travel, garden and enjoyed his church family.
Floyd was passionate about his family and is survived by his children: Roy (Marcia) of Hayden, Jay (Jackie) of Hayden, Lon (Kristi) of Hayden, Kim (Renee) of Athol, Lee (Laura) of Coeur d’ Alene, and April (Stephen) of Toronto.
Additionally, he is survived by his 14 grand-children, 25 great-grandchildren and two great-great- grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, April 17, 2015 at YATES FUNERAL HOME - HAYDEN CHAPEL, 373 E. Hayden Ave., Hayden, ID with reception following.
