A sample of what he’s signed up for: Ferris High School senior Pvt. 2nd Class Bryan Mashtare sits in the U.S. Army Adventure Semi’s air wing simulator section Thursday in Spokane. The Army’s traveling trailer houses interactive displays including tanks and flight simulators and an explosive ordnance disposal robot arm simulator. Ferris students visited the trailer throughout the school day. Mashtare has joined the Army and will leave for Fort Benning, Ga., in August. A projection light shines on his face before an omni dome is lowered over his head for a video simulating a ride in an AH64 Apache helicopter.
