Obituary: Smith, Naomi Mary Susan
Age 93
She was born on March 31, 1922 to James and Bertha Campbell in Princeton, ID.
Naomi and Fred O. Smith were married on November 4th, 1939 in Harvard, Idaho.
At the time of his passing in 2004, they had been married for 65 years.
They enjoyed taking short trips to western Washington and to Idaho to visit family.
Naomi was a member of TOPS for 22 years and was known as “The Sunshine Lady,” for the encouraging letters and cards she sent to members; that carried through to her family and friends as she never missed a birthday or other opportunity to send a card and write a letter.
She was an in home care giver and also took care of the commissary at Lilac Plaza for many years.
In her spare time, she enjoyed crocheting and made many afghans for family.
Naomi was preceded in death by her husband Fred; her sons, Gary D. and Harry J. Smith; also by two sisters and three brothers.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Rick Carney; grandchildren: Deb and Rock Smith, Brian and Shawn Carney, Carey Hoppman, Travis Smith and 13 great-grandchildren; she also has several nieces that she has kept in contact with.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
