Suspended The NFL suspended defensive end Greg Hardy for 10 games without pay Wednesday for conduct detrimental to the league after concluding there was “credible evidence” he roughed up his former girlfriend nearly a year ago when he was a member of the Carolina Panthers. Hardy joined the Dallas Cowboys as a free agent on a one-year, incentive-laden deal. Hardy plans to appeal.

Leaving Ohio State point guard and first-team All-America D’Angelo Russell is making himself available for the NBA draft after one season with the Buckeyes. Russell, a 6-foot-5 native of Louisville, Kentucky, was the Big Ten freshman of the year, leading the Buckeyes in scoring with 19.3 points per game.

Announced The U.S. Olympic Team Trials is returning to Iowa City, Iowa, in 2016. The meet to set the American team headed to the 2016 Rio Games will be held at the University of Iowa next April.

Signed Free-agent receiver Greg Jennings signed with the Miami Dolphins. A nine-year veteran, Jennings led the Vikings last season with 59 receptions for 742 yards and six touchdowns.
