She was born in Spokane on November 4, 1921 the daughter of Nicola and Maria (Domanico) Caferro.
Florence was preceded in death by her first husband Roy G. Merrill in 1948 and then her second husband Joseph A. Hartz in 1987.
She is survived by her children Nick (Dianne) Merrill, Duane Merrill and Patty (Joe) Speranzi all of Spokane; grandchildren Joey Speranzi, Nikki Carney, Jamie Roberts and Samantha Fetters; great-grandchildren Shelli, Toni, Anna, Sophia, Zibby, Scarlett and Aria; and her sister Esther Svahn of San Diego, CA.
Private family services were held at Holy Cross Cemetery.
