Obituary: Hodin, Dorene Lynn

HODIN, Dorene Lynn Dorene Lynn Hodin was born May 26, 1950, the youngest of Lee and Lois Hodin, now deceased.

She passed away unexpectedly July 25th at her home in the Spokane Valley.

Dorene graduated from West Valley in 1968 and took advanced studies at SCC and EWU.

Dorene had a ceramic craft business as well as working with her father in his Auto Air conditioning business, taking over after his death until 2005.

Dorene’s greatest passion was her association with Spokane’s Civic Theatre and Children’s Theatre.

Over a 40 year period she gave thousands of hours to theatre, spent many happy hours and acquired many friends.

She loved all animals, especially cats and gave homes to many.

We thank her neighbor Barb for giving her dog Rosie a home.

Dorene is survived by her sister, Donna Messinger (Mike); brother David Hodin (Debbie); four nieces, two nephews, five great-nieces and two great-nephews which she adored; many relatives and friends including her life time best friends Rita (Neu) Hart and Judy (Williams) Lewis.

A Memorial Service will be held at the St Josephs’ Cemetery Chapel at 17825 E. Trent on Tuesday August 4th at 11:00 am, with a reception following at St Josephs’ Church 4521 N Arden Rd Otis Orchards.

Donations may be made to any animal shelters or Civic or Children’s Theatres in Dorene’s memory.

Dorene was a generous and giving person and will be missed by many.
