Obituary: Mckeehen, Patsy Lorraine

McKEEHEN, Patsy Lorraine 1934 - 2015 Saddled with a quick wit, and a somewhat quirky sense of humor, a lifetime of laughter was silenced when Patsy left us.

Born and raised in Spokane, Patsy was the daughter of Dr. Cecil and Mae McKeehen.

After graduating from Lewis and Clark High School she spent a year at Washington State College.

While her time there was short, she became a lifelong Cougar fan, forever cheering on the Crimson and Grey.

Pat’s entire working career was in the banking business, starting at Fidelity Savings and Loan in Spokane, which was later taken over by First Interstate Bank.

She was transferred by the bank to Seattle in 1982 where she continued working until her retirement in 1995.

After retiring she spent her remaining years living in the Seattle area.

Music was a very important part of her life.

Learning to play the piano at an early age, she developed a lifelong appreciation of music…particularly the tunes of the Big Band era.

There were two very special places in Pat’s life.

One was her cabin on Lake Coeur d’Alene.

The other was the area around Lincoln City on the Oregon Coast.

Patsy was predeceased by her parents and her partner, Carl Sweatt.

She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Don and Phyllis McKeehen; three nephews, Doug, Bob, and Dave McKeehen and their families; niece Valya Coole; Val Sweatt and her family.

A celebration of Patsy’s life is scheduled for August 14, 2:00 pm, at Manito Presbyterian Church, in Spokane.

An informal gathering at the church will follow the service.

Donations in Patsy’s name may be made to the American Cancer Society, or the Alzheimer’s Association.
