Obituary: Geschke, Ernest W.
Age 98
Ernest was born on December 1, 1916 in Ritzville, WA, to Fred and Martha (Ziethke) Geschke.
He was a graduate of Washtucna High School and upon graduating from Barber school, Ernest moved to Yakima, WA.
On August 31, 1940, Ernest married the love of his life Bertie Heng, they were married for 73 years and had two children, Ernie and Janice.
Ernest took great pride being a charter member of the Emmanuel Lutheran Church.
Ernest and Bertie enjoyed spending the winter months in Sun City, AZ., and spending time with family.
Ernest is survived by his son, Ernie (Sally); daughter, Janice Reitmeier (Bob); three grandsons, Bryan, Kent (Monica), and Brent; granddaughter, Brenda Greer (Casey); four great-grandsons and one great-granddaughter; five great-great-grandsons and two great-great-granddaughters; sister-in-law Claudia Jamerson.
Several nieces and nephews.
Ernest was preceded in death by his wife Bertie in 2014; his parents; his brothers: Bill and Jerry; sisters: Pearl and Lilly Geschke; one grandson, Eric Geschke and one great-great-granddaughter, Kinsley Greer.
The family of Ernest would like to thank the staff at the Cheney Assisted Living for the wonderful care he received.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 17, at Cheney Funeral Chapel with Rev.
Steven Gutzman officiating.
Burial will follow at Spokane Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
