Cowherd joins Fox

Fox announced its long-anticipated hiring of former ESPN personality Colin Cowherd on Wednesday, including as host of a three-hour sports talk radio program that will be simulcast on Fox Sports 1 starting Sept. 8. Cowherd’s show will air from 9 a.m. to noon PDT. Cowherd, who attended Eastern Washington University, also will become a member of the “Fox NFL Kickoff” show, which will be seen on Fox from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. on NFL Sundays, preceding “Fox NFL Sunday.” ESPN dismissed Cowherd last month, a week before he was scheduled to leave the network, in the wake of comments on his radio show in which he appeared to question the intelligence of Dominicans, remarks for which he subsequently apologized. – Associated Press
