Eagle Track Raceway, the iconic dirt oval located in Republic, holds the 8th Annual Les Weaver Memorial race this weekend featuring Modifieds, Super Stocks and Fever 4’s. The event also begins the track’s march to its championship in September with just four races left on the schedule.

After a rough start to her Modified season, Tiana Berkeley vowed to go hard each week to get herself back into contention for the division’s championship fight. The teen has made good on her promise, as she’s been the top runner in the track’s last three events, which has moved her to the top of the points standings.

Berkeley’s chief competition comes from previous points leader Jason Hanks. Bryan Hobbs follows with Dan Olsen and Tina Hobbs rounding out the top five.

In the Super Stock division, Darrin Metcalf has a firm lead over Jason Stone, followed by Julian Braun, Richard Davies and Mike Olmstead.

Dakota Jones has a 130-point lead in the popular Fever 4 class, but Joe Waterfall and Keith Jolin are tied for second with Stuart Jolin and Bob Bradshaw staying close.

K&N Pro Series

NASCAR’s K&N Pro Series makes the second of three Northwest stops this weekend at Evergreen Speedway in Monroe, Washington. The Inland Empire will be well represented again as Nicole Behar, Braeden Havens and Blake Williams are all pre-entered for Saturday’s NAPA Auto Parts 150.

When the series visited Stateline Speedway on July 11, Williams finished fifth and Behar seventh.

Saturday’s event is the ninth of a 13-race season with the chase for the championship one of the closest is series history. Jefferson-Pitts Racing’s Noah Gragson, who will be Williams teammate again this weekend, leads Chris Eggleston by two points. Gracin Raz, another driver out of the Jefferson-Pitts Racing stables, is just nine points off the pace. Behar is 10th, but just 22 points out of fifth place. Just 47 points separate Gragson from Behar with five races left.

“We’ve put together some great finishes on the series this season and can’t wait to continue that in Monroe in front of the home state fans,” said Behar.

Evergreen Speedway also features its late model program with Mead’s Shelby Thompson the lone driver from the Spokane area in the field.

The NASCAR K&N Pro Series race will be covered live at hometracks.nascar.com with the television coverage set for Aug. 21 on NBC Sports.
