Obituary: Sanders, Billy Winn
Billy was born in Royston, Georgia in 1933 to the late Henry and Ethel Sanders.
He joined the United States Air Force in 1953 working as an Aircraft Mechanic.
He had the pleasure of working on the SR-71 “Blackbird” while stationed at Beale AFB.
Billy served in the Korean and Vietnam War.
After proudly serving his Country for 21 years, USAF TSgt.
Billy W. Sanders retired in Spokane where he continued working for many years as an RV Technician.
Billy worked very hard but made sure to take time to enjoy life with his family and friends.
He had a love for traveling, beer, country western music, and sharing stories with his kids and grandkids.
Billy and Marilu spent many years and made many lifelong friends at Twin Echo Shores, ID, and in Yuma, AZ.
Billy was a loving Husband, devoted Dad, fun and silly Grandpa, and a great friend.
He is survived by, loved by and deeply missed by his wife of 60 years Marilu Sanders, his daughters Debbie Thompson (Dennis), Lauri Cook (Terry), Julie Sanders (Doug) his sons Gary Sanders, Kevin Sanders (Tracy) his 15 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, his brother Edsel Sanders, his brothers-in-law Bob Bangs, Bobby Conner (Jean), his sister-in-law Margie Carter, his many nieces and nephews, and his beloved Chihuahuas Loca and Cali.
He is forever in our hearts and cherished memories as he was preceded in death by his parents Henry and Ethel Sanders, his sister Elizabeth Vaughn, his brothers Devant, W.A.
and Gene Sanders, his in-laws Mary and Roy Conner, his sisters-in-law Carol Crane and Pat Bangs.
Viewing will be held on Monday, August, 17 from 9am-1pm at Hennessy Funeral Home, 1315 N. Pines Rd., Spokane Valley, WA.
Service will be held following viewing on Monday, August, 17 at 2:15 at the Washington State Veterans Cemetery, 21702 E. Espanola Rd., Medical Lake, WA.
Celebration of life to be held at family home following the service.
