Obituary: Bentley, Judith I.

Age 81

BENTLEY, Judith I. October 24, 1933 - August 13, 2015 Judy passed away peacefully on August 13, 2015, after a long battle with dementia.

She was a faithful Christian from the time she was young and all the way through her illness.

She was an anchor in the family and will be greatly missed.

Judy was born to Norwegian immigrants, Greg and Anna Lovrak, in Tacoma, Washington.

She taught her parents and two brothers to speak English.

She retained the ability to speak, read and write Norwegian.

Judy attended Franklin Grade School, Jason Lee Junior High School, and graduated from Lincoln High School in Tacoma, Washington in 1952, always walking to school and never missing a day.

She worked as a medical assistant for several medical doctors and then worked 28 years for Blue Cross in Spokane, Washington.

Judy was an active member of Indian Trail Church, and a charter member of Northview Bible Church, both of Spokane, Washington.

She was a beautiful wife, mother and grandmother.

A highlight of every year for Judy was Bloomsday.

She ran the course every year for 17 years.

She was also an excellent cook and her Sunday dinners will be remembered for years to come.

Judy is survived by her husband, Winston Bentley, of 57 years; her two children, Rebecca Buckingham and Tony Bentley; grandchildren, Taiten, James, Addy and Cylee; and great-grandson, Brennan.

She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Contributions can be sent to Amber Waves Nursing Home in Waterville, Washington and to Indian Trail Church in Spokane, Washington.

A graveside service will be held in Mansfield, Washington at the Mansfield Cemetery on Saturday, August 22 at 11:00 a.m. A memorial service will be scheduled in Spokane at a later date.
