Obituary: Kostecka-Oliver, Betty Jean

KOSTECKA-OLIVER, Betty Jean (Rizzuto) (Age 86) Betty Jean passed away Sunday, August 16, 2015 in Spokane, WA.

She was born to Antonio and Rosalie Rizzuto on June 25, 1929 in Spokane, WA.

She was a member of St. Thomas More Parish and was a Eucharistic Minister at the local hospitals.

Betty also was a member of the Altar Society, several bridge groups and in her younger days she was a member of two bowling leagues and the Wandermere Women’s Nine Holers.

She is survived by her husband of seventeen years, Seth Oliver, her seven children Sally Hughes (Jerry), Walt Kostecka (Teresa) of Federal Way, John Kostecka (Kelly) of Idaho Falls, ID, Mary Bosaaen of Spokane, WA., Joe Kostecka (Tami) of Spokane, David Kostecka (Julie) of Mount Vernon, WA and Pat Kostecka (Alisa) of Spokane, thirty-one grandchildren and seventeen great-grand- children, her brothers, Joe, Don and Bill Rizzuto, sister, Mary Hill and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her first husband Michael Kostecka, grandson Adam Kostecka, and granddaughter Melanie Kostecka.

A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Thomas More Parish on Monday, August 24, 2015 at 10 AM.

For those wishing to attend, a Rosary will be held at 9 am at St. Thomas More.

Following the Funeral Mass a luncheon will be held.

Interment will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery following the luncheon.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Family to Family program at St. Thomas More, a financial assistance program for Guatemalan families living in poverty.
