New mandatory evacuations ordered near Okanogan Complex, North Star Fire

UPDATE, 5:30 p.m.

Areas under Level 3 (leave now) evacuation include:

Aeneas Valley, Crawfish Lake, Disautel – west to Omak, Kartar Valley, Moses Meadows, Nespelem – north to Aeneas Valley, North of South Nanamkin on S.R. 21, Owhi Flats, Tunk Area, North, Middle, South Forks Gold Creek Road, Gold Creek Road.

Areas under Level 2 (be ready) evacuation include: Buzzard Lake Road, Chiliwist, Conconully, Gardener Creek Road at Ferry County, Leader Lake, Loomis, Nespelem and Nespelem HUDs, Pine Forest, Pleasant Valley,Twisp River and Twisp River Drainage, South Nanamkin Creek - South to Cache Creek Turnoff at S.R. 21, West Fork Area of Salmon Creek/west of city limits.

Areas under Level 1 (be warned) evacuation include: Alta Lake, Brewster, Carlton, Chesaw, Clarkston Mill, Colville Agency, Havillah, Malott, Mazama, Molson, Okanogan, Omak, Omak Flats, Oroville, Pateros, Riverside, Twisp, Sun Mountain, State Frontage Road outside of Tonasket, and Tonasket, Twisp, Winthrop, Wolf Creek – all of the Left Fork and the Right Fork to Green Road.

Previous coverage

A mandatory evacuation order has been issued for some residents of the Colville Indian Reservation and Okanogan and Ferry counties because of the North Star Fire there. The Level 3 evacuation order affects roads along State Route 21 south of State Route 20, including: Country Place, Marblemount Place, Adams Road, Penny Lane, Eagle Track Road, and Pendry Road. A Red Cross evacuation center is available at Grace Evangelical Church, 851 S. Miner Street in Colville.
