GSL girls roundup: LC rolls past Ferris
The Lewis and Clark girls basketball team had contributions coming from all areas of the floor Tuesday.
Taylor Cunningham led the Tigers with a career-high 28 points and nine rebounds as Lewis and Clark dispatched the visiting Ferris Saxons 78-45 in Greater Spokane League action.
Riley Lupfer, Brooklyn Howlett, Kristan Rogers and Jacinta Buckley also had big contributions for LC (4-1, 4-0). Lupfer scored 12 points and had six assists; Howlett had 11 points; Rogers scored 10; and Buckley had a team-high 14 rebounds. Megan Muelheim led Ferris (5-2, 3-2) with 10.
University 41, Mt. Spokane 38: Kaitlin Pannell made a 3-pointer with 4.5 seconds remaining to left the visiting Titans (3-3, 3-1) past the Wildcats (2-2, 2-2). Pannell finished with a team-high 17 points. Aspyn Adams led Mt. Spokane with 17.
Gonzaga Prep 59, Mead 51: Tayler Drynan made 5 of 6 free throws late to lead the visiting Bullpups (2-4, 2-2) to a come-from-behind win over the Panthers (2-3, 2-2). Drynan scored a career high 23 points and Mia Scelfo added 11 points. Aaliyah Pauling had 18 points, seven rebounds and six assists.
Central Valley 69, Rogers 15: Four players reached double-figure scoring to lead the visiting Bears (5-0, 4-0) over the Pirates (0-5, 0-4). Lexie Hull led CV with 15 points and freshman Mady Simmelink had 13.
North Central 57, Shadle Park 43: The visiting Indians (1-5, 1-3) bounced back from a 29-24 halftime deficit to top the Highlanders (0-5, 0-4). Megan Dean led the Indians with 13 points and Sunny Ellenwood added 12. Marijah Christen and Abby Bauernfeind had 10 apiece for Shadle.
