Subway robber nabbed quickly Friday
Spokane police arrested a man believed to be responsible for the robbery of a Subway restaurant Friday only minutes after the crime.
The Subway on Northwest Boulevard just west of Monroe Street was robbed about 5:15 p.m. A few minutes later an officer spotted a man matching the description of the suspect in the area, according to a police department news release.
The man ran, but was captured by police. He had discarded his jacket, which was located in an alley by a police K-9, the release said.
The suspect, identified as 38-year-old Steven White, was arrested on suspicion of robbery and possession of methamphetamine. He also was wanted on a Department of Corrections warrant.
