Obituary: Gray, Paul Harmon

GRAY, Paul Harmon (Age 88) Went home to be with the Lord on January 28, 2015 at Riverview Care Center.

He was born on December 1, 1926 in Kearney, Nebraska, to Paul and Esther Gray.

Paul’s family moved to Ogden, Utah, in 1933.

After graduating from Ogden High School, Paul immediately joined the United States Navy, where he actively serving during World War II aboard the destroyer ship USS Bainbridge.

In 1947, following honorable discharge, Paul moved to Spokane to attend Whitworth College where he met and married the love of his life, Jean A. Hattrick.

After Whitworth, Paul then attended Dallas Theological Seminary.

Following graduation, Paul and Jean returned to Spokane to raise their children, Janice and Donald.

In Spokane, until his retirement in 1980, Paul served as a teacher for Spokane School District 81.

Paul is survived by his sisters Jean Hedrick and Esther Fraser, daughter Janice McLellan, son Donald Gray, four grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren.

A service in honor of Paul Gray will be held Tuesday, February 3, 2015, 1:00 pm, at Ball & Dodd Funeral Home in Spokane, followed by interment Greenwood Memorial Terrace.
