Obituary: Morris, Corinne A.

Age 79

MORRIS, Corinne A. Corinne A. Morris was born in Crookston, Minnesota on September 25, 1935, to Dodds and Denna Miller.

She passed away after her fight with Melanoma cancer on January 24, 2015, knowing that she would be with her Lord and her Guardian Angels.

She was raised on a farm in the Red River Valley of Minnesota where she attended her first eight years of school in a one room school house with twelve other students.

After high school, she continued her education at Bemidji State College where she received her certificate in accounting and eventually took a job with an accounting firm in Great Falls, Montana.

It was up skiing that she met her future husband Jim Morris who was serving in the U.S. Air Force at Great Falls.

After Jim was discharged from the Air Force, the couple moved to Jim’s home town in Spokane.

There Corinne used her accounting skills in the family appliance business.

After the business was sold she joined the accounting department of Dorian Photography Studio until she retired.

Corinne loved the out of doors!

She was an ardent gardener and loved working in her garden.

She also enjoyed hiking and skiing.

She was a member of the Schweitzer Prime Timers.

She served on her church vestry and as treasurer on many committees.

Corinne was a loving wife and mother.

She was a person who was very generous to other people.

Corinne is survived by her husband Jim after 57 years of marriage, daughter Kathy (Tom) Lacy, sons Todd Morris and David (Denise) Morris.

She also leaves behind her sister Marilyn Dunn and brothers Dick Miller and Bob Miller; grandchildren Emily Marley-Morris, Alexander and Joseph Lacy.

A memorial service will be held at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church on Saturday, February 7, at 11:00 AM.

In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated for the St. Stephen’s Celebration Garden, the Melanoma Cancer Research Fund or the Spokane Hospice House.
