Obituary: Phillips, Thomas A. “Tom”
Age 83
“Tom” Sept. 29, 1931 - Jan. 12, 2015 Entered into heaven January 12, 2015 in Spokane after fighting a courageous battle with numerous medical com-plications.
Tom graduated from high school in Pecan Gap, TX.
Entered the USAF in 1949 where he served 22 years in the Security Police field.
He worked for Spokane Parks and Recreation for many years.
He spent the last five of his working years as the Maintenance Supervisor for Riverfront Park.
For several years after retiring he and his wife traveled to Yuma, AZ.
He loved meeting people and made numerous friends.
Tom spent his spare time fishing, hunting, being a helpful neighbor, and enjoying grandchildren, Corey, Karin, and Calvin.
He had two great-grand- children, Elizabeth and Aiden, all of Spokane.
Other survivors are his wife of 55 years, Geraldine “Gerry”; two children, John Thomas of Lakeland, FL and Jean Ann of Spokane; there are several cousins in Texas.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM, on Wednesday, February 4, 2015 at the Sunset Chapel, Fairmount Memorial Park, a graveside service with military honors will follow.
The family invites you to an hour long visit preceding the memorial service in the chapel.
The family suggests contributions be made in Tom’s name to the American Cancer Society.
