Obituary: Schmidt, Winifred June
Age 84
June was born in Detroit, MI, on June 21, 1930 and was married in San Francisco, CA on October 29, 1945.
She and Don raised five children.
She attended SCC and received her LPN license and worked as a nurse at St. Lukes Memorial Hospital and later went on to work with special needs children and adopted three grandchildren in order to keep them in the family (Crystal Pickering, Amber and Robert Schmidt).
She spent her years enjoying home decorating, gardening, knitting and crocheting, raising monkeys, pigs, cats and dogs.
She is leaving behind her daughters: Vickie and her husband, Ron Heide, Julie Higby, Channah Schmidt and her son, Daniel Schmidt.
She had 15 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
June was the last surviving member of the Baron’s family.
A Memorial Service will be held on February 9, 2015, at 4:00 P.M., at Pasadena Park Church of the Nazarene, 8822 E. Upriver Dr., Spokane, WA 99212, with a Potluck to follow.
