Obituary: Grant, Lucille Viola

Age 91

GRANT, Lucille Viola Lucille Viola (Engelbrecht) Hambleton Grant, passed away Monday, January 26, 2015 at Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane.

Lucille Viola Engelbrecht was born November 15, 1923 in Wagner, South Dakota, to parents Finis Elmo Engelbrecht and Fannie Eudora Crofutt Engelbrecht.

She graduated from Wagner High School in 1941.

Lucille met her future husband, George Hambleton, while in Mitchell, South Dakota.

George moved to Spokane and Lucille followed, where they were married in 1942.

Lucille attended business college in Spokane, and was employed by Drumheller Laboratories in Spokane and ran the business office there for a number of years.

Lucille loved to dance and was a graduate of Arthur Murray Dance Studio.

She loved attending dances at the Eagles Lodge in the Spokane Valley, and at the Eagles Lodge in Coeur d’Alene.

Lucille was an avid bowler and bowled in a league well into her 80’s.

Lucille is survived by her daughters: Lesa (Michael) Peart of Spokane Valley, WA and Karen (Fred) Olson of Lake Tapps, WA; three granddaughters and four great-grandchildren.

Lucille was a resident of Good Samaritan in the Spokane Valley and her family wishes to acknowledge the extraordinary care she received while a resident there.
