Obituary: Calvert, Lorne M.

Age 90

CALVERT, Lorne M. “Gone Fishing” July 11, 1924 - January 31, 2015 It is with deep sorrow we share the passing of our father, Lorne M. Calvert.

He joined our Lord peacefully and with great dignity on January 31, 2015.

Preceding him in passing was his first wife of 51 years, Alice.

Lorne is survived by his second wife Jeanne, four daughters, nine grandchildren, and 21 great-grandchildren.

Lorne was a kind, compassionate, conscientious and generous man who knew all as friends.

The sun never set without him watching in awe.

Fishing was a passion Lorne shared with his children and sons-in-law.

Fishing stories with Lorne are shared by all as well as the legendary Sunday drive.

After serving time in the U.S. Army, Lorne graduated magna cum laude from the University of Montana in 1959 with three daughters and a wife in tow.

Lorne was proud to be a 32째 Master Mason for 58 years.

After a long career with the U.S. Forest Service, Alice and Lorne moved to Spokane.

With love, respect and gratitude that words cannot express we say goodbye to this wonderful man.

In lieu of flowers, remembrances may go to Shriners Hospital for Children or Valley Bible Church.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 7, 2015 at Thornhill Valley Funeral Home starting at 2:00PM.
