Obituary: Bendele, Lenwood S.
Age 81
Lenwood lived in Hondo, Texas until joining the Army.
He served from 1953 to 1957 and received the National Defense Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal.
He later moved to Spokane, WA, and in 1977 he married Charla (Bendele), gaining an instant family.
Len went on to work for White Shoes for over 30 years.
After retiring, he and Charla travelled and enjoyed time with their family and friends.
He treasured his time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren; he also treasured his many four-legged friends.
Collecting coins, buckles and eagles was another pastime that he enjoyed.
Lenwood is survived by his daughter, Karen Jackson; sons, David Douglas and Ron Jackson; grandchildren, Michelle and Harold Wilson, Jason and Lindsay Ham and Drew and Jamie Douglas and Tyler Ham; six more grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Charla Bendele, of 36 years.
Lenwood was known for his smile and his laughter.
A celebration of life will be held at Spokane Valley Church of the Nazarene, 15515 E. 20th.
