Obituary: Young, Phyllis
Wife of 53 years to the late Arthur H. Young, mother of Bill Young (Ida), Mary Hawkins, Art Young (the late Pat), Jeannie Boyd (Ric) and the late Allen Young.
She was predeceased by three siblings: Ethel Curren, Renee (Frost) Cox, and brother, Arthur (Corky) Mudge.
She is also survived by her older sister, Clarice Ward.
Phyllis had 11 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great-grandchildren.
She spent many happy summers at the family lake house at Deer Lake.
She could be found at any time of the day swimming in the lake regardless of the temperature and enjoyed hosting family and friends on weekends and special occasions.
Phyllis enjoyed many years of participating on bowling leagues and often came in first place bringing home many trophies.
Phyllis served our country in the Navy WAVES from 1944 to 1946, during which time she met and married Arthur Young.
During the last few years Phyllis was lovingly cared for by her grandson, Adam Sala.
Relatives and friends are invited to the Vigil Service on Friday, February 13th at 7:00 pm at St. Charles Church, 4515 N. Alberta St., Spokane, WA.
Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, February 14th at 11:00 am, also at St. Charles Church.
Lunch will be served directly following the service in the church gymnasium.
A Graveside service, at Holy Cross Cemetery, will follow the luncheon.
