Obituary: Hays, Del
The family eventually moved to Spokane where Del attended Whitworth and Bemis Elementary Schools and Rogers High School.
He served in the U.S. Navy for two years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Franklin and Gene Hays and by his brother, Darwin and his sister, Janice.
He is survived by his sister, Judy White (Ray) of Spokane and his daughter Christine DeLeon of Susanville, CA along with grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Del most recently was employed by Medical Lake School District as a mechanic supervisor in the bus garage where he had many friends who miss him.
He also loved to hang out at Frankie Doodle’s restaurant and visit with friends there.
Del struggled with Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s Diseases.
The family would like to thank the staff at Brookdale Place for their excellent care and also Hospice of Spokane for the comfort they provided toward the end.
There will be a Memorial Service at the Veteran’s Cemetery in Medical Lake, WA on Friday, February 20, 2015 at 11:15 a.m. with Military Honors.
