Obituary: Kulink, Edward James
Age 82
He died on February 4, 2015 after a three year battle with leukemia.
Among his many achievements, his 57 year marriage to Beverly Sue Hart was what he valued most.
This union produced a bounty of souls which include five children, Karin (Danny) Smith, Heidi Hart, Sue (Tim) Gaebe, Andy Kulink, Joe (Lisa) Kulink.
He leaves behind eight grandchildren, Katie (Ben), Sammy, Dillon, Stevie (Charlie), Jodi, Jake, (Meghan), Nick, Griffin and two great- grandchildren, Paxton and Carter.
Ed was an amazing husband, dad and Grandpa.
He was known for his good humor and gentle nature.
Family was his main focus in life.
He spoiled his children, and grandchildren with the most precious gift of all, his time.
He loved summers at the lake teaching them to fish, play cribbage, spades, chess, and was happiest when he was winning which was almost always.
Ed served in the Korean War with the U.S. Army landing in Incheon on his 21st birthday.
He went on to graduate from Sacramento State College with a Business Degree and a specialty in Accounting.
Ed worked for many years at The Spokesman-Review as the Accounting Manager, retiring in 1993.
In his retirement years Ed volunteered as an AARP Tax Aide, assisting multitudes of tax payers with filing their taxes.
Ed’s other interests included good food, wine, gardening, and cheering for the Zags.
He is also survived by his brother Ralph (Norma) Kulink and numerous nieces and nephews.
His legacy of kindness is instilled in his descendants and will live on forever.
We salute and honor this man.
A special family mass will be held in his memory at a future date.
