Obituary: Sutherland, Marilyn Lee (Murray)

SUTHERLAND, Marilyn Lee (Murray) Surrounded by family, Marilyn Sutherland passed into the arms of her loving Lord, and Savior, Sunday, February 8, 2015.

Marilyn was born in Chicago, IL, June 24, 1932 to Cecil and Irene Murray.

Relocated to Spokane, WA her freshman year and graduated from Rogers High School.

Married Eugene (Gene) Sutherland November 22, 1950 and raised three children.

Family, faith and friends were what mattered most to Marilyn.

She and Gene attended First Church of the Nazarene where she served as missionary president for over 20 years.

Marilyn was also a member of the Spokane Junior League and traveled extensively throughout the years with Gene on short term mission trips.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Scott Murray; and son James Sutherland.

She is survived by her children; Elizabeth (Bob) Bundy, Tamara (Bob) Douglas and daughter-in-law Debra Sutherland.

Grandchildren; Erin (Tony) Sutherland-Martinez, J.C. (Kinga) Sutherland, Jeffrey (Rachel) Bundy, James (Sarah) Bundy, Ashley, Hilary and Robby Douglas.

And great-granddaughter Abbey Douglas.

Marilyn loved Jesus, her husband, her children and their spouses, her grandchildren and friends so deeply.

She touched the lives of so many and her presence will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her.

Marilyn’s Celebration of Life will be on Monday, February 16, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. at Spokane First Church of the Nazarene, 9004 North Country Homes Boulevard, Spokane, WA.
