People: Prince performs at Michael Jordan shoes shindig

From Wire Reports

Prince woke up early Saturday to share some love and hits on Valentine’s Day with a crowd that included Michael Jordan, Beyonce, Jay Z and Chris Rock.

The pop icon performed an early morning concert for a star-studded audience: Questlove, Rosario Dawson, Nas and Queen Latifah, were among those dancing and singing to his rousing set in downtown New York City.

Wendy Williams danced onstage behind the keyboards throughout the first half of Prince’s two-hour-plus performance, and the pop icon selected celebs to come onstage later in the set. Among them, Rock, Latifah, Questlove, BET executive Stephen Hill and Extra host A.J. Calloway – who all danced to Michael Jackson’s “Don’t Stop ’Til You Get Enough” along with other non-celebs in the crowd.

The outside of 23 Wall Street was a bit chaotic as fans tried to get in to see Prince. The singer’s performance celebrated the 30th anniversary of the Jordan sneaker.

Prince – after being urged by fans who yelled “Purple Rain” – closed the night with the key song.

“I heard some people singing, but I want to hear everybody singing,” he said, extending the song.

Hart ignores Pascal comments

Kevin Hart says he never had any “hard feelings” toward former Sony Pictures co-chair Amy Pascal. And now that she’s been forced to step down, he just wants to distance himself from last year’s Sony cyberattack and release of offensive emails from Pascal and other executives that mentioned Hart and others.

The 35-year old Hart said he’s only concerned with issues that affect his family.

“If it’s not something threatening them, it gets none of my attention,” he told the Associated Press before the NBA Celebrity Game on Friday at Madison Square Garden in New York.

He said Pascal’s firing doesn’t concern him either way.

“It has nothing to do with me. I’m a comedian. I’m an entertainer. Anything that’s outside of my box I don’t concern myself with,” Hart said.

He added: “I get paid to do what I love. I’m in love with the fact that I’m blessed and fortunate. There’s nothing else that can compromise it.”

As for the game, Hart earned his fourth MVP title. The annual exhibition is part of NBA All Star weekend.
