“Do Not Tamper With the Clues: What Goldman Sachs Can Tell Us About Religion” - The Simpson-Duvall Endowment presents a lecture by Dr. Kathryn Lofton, a Yale University professor and chairwoman of Women’s, Gender and Sexuality Studies. Her research focuses on the public affects, intimate desires and corporate entities that have influenced and are in turn influenced by religious activity. Evidence for God from Physics - Bishop Emeritus William Skylstad will lead a dinner series on the subject using the Rev. Robert Spitzer’s videos on arguments from reason on God’s existence. There will be a Q&A over dessert and coffee followed by a discussion. The topic for this session is “In the Beginning II: Is there Evidence of Fine-tuning, Design and Intelligence in the Universe? Soup Suppers & Devotions - Wednesday evenings during Lent. The devotions presented by Rev. Barbara Caviezel are based on the book by Rob Fuquay called “The God We Can Know: Exploring the ‘I AM’ Sayings of Jesus.” After the soup suppers, age-appropriate lessons and crafts will be offered for school-age children and teens. Lenten Fish Fry - Hosted by the Knights of Columbus. The meal of baked or fried fish, french fries or baked potato, clam chowder or soup of the week will be served from 5:30-6:45 p.m. every Friday in Lent. The Stations of the Cross follows at 7 p.m. The church will also be collecting donations of diapers, baby clothes and other items for the Catholic Charities Childbirth and Parenting Assistance program.
